How has climate change affected the migration patterns of animals?

Climate change has had a big impact on the way animals move around and find places to live. Many animals rely on certain temperatures and weather patterns to survive, and as those things change due to climate change, they have to move to new areas or face extinction.

Here are some examples of how climate change affects animal migration:

- Some animals, like birds, migrate based on the seasons. They fly to warmer areas in the winter and cooler areas in the summer. But as the planet warms up overall, those seasonal changes are happening at different times or not at all in some areas. That means birds may not know when to move or where to go, which can disrupt their entire migration patterns.
- Marine animals like whales, dolphins, and sea turtles rely on specific ocean temperatures to find food and mate. But as the ocean warms, those temperatures change too, and the animals may have trouble finding what they need. They may also have to swim farther or in different directions to find food, which can impact their health and overall population numbers.
- Certain animals, like polar bears, are adapted to live in very cold environments. As the Arctic warms up, they have less ice to hunt on and less food to eat. Some polar bears are starting to move farther south to find food, which puts them at risk of coming into contact with humans.
- Some animals, like certain types of grasshoppers, have life cycles that depend on specific weather patterns. If the temperature or rainfall changes, they may not be able to grow and mate as usual. This can cause their populations to decline or become unstable.
