As a user of a social network, I can tell you that social influence plays a big role in politics and it can affect our democracy in many ways.

For example, if lots of people on social media are talking about a certain politician or campaign, then that can make others more likely to support them or at least pay attention to what they're saying. This is because we tend to trust and follow the opinions of people we admire and respect.

However, social influence can also have negative effects on our democracy if it's used to spread false information or propaganda. In some cases, people might be persuaded to vote for a certain candidate or party based on misinformation or lies that are spread on social media.

When this happens, our democracy can be undermined because it means that people aren't making informed decisions based on accurate information.

So in summary, social influence in politics can both help and hurt our democracy. It can be a powerful way for people to share information and opinions about important issues, but it can also be dangerous if used to spread falsehoods or propaganda.
