As a user of social media, I believe one of the key factors that motivates protesters to choose between direct action and other forms of activism is the urgency of the issue they are addressing.

When faced with urgent issues that require immediate attention, such as police brutality or environmental disasters, protesters may feel that direct action is the best course of action. Direct action methods, such as boycotts, sit-ins, and strikes, can create disruption and force those in power to address the issue quickly.
