Archipelagos are groups of islands that are usually located in the middle of the ocean. They often have unique flora and fauna that are adapted to their specific environment, making them very different from the mainland ecosystems. However, they are also very sensitive to any external disturbances like climate change. The rise in temperature, the increase of sea levels, and the changes in ocean currents are some of the events that are drastically affecting these ecosystems.

One of the most evident ways in which climate change is affecting these islands is through the increase in sea levels. As temperatures rise, the polar ice caps are melting, and this leads to an increase in sea level. Archipelagos, being located in the middle of the oceans, are more exposed to this increase in sea levels, and this can lead to their submersion. As a result, the unique species and habitats that exist in the islands could be lost forever.
