Another effective strategy is to install and maintain a reliable antivirus software. These programs help detect and remove malware, and some even come with anti-ransomware protection features. Antivirus programs are essential since ransomware attackers can take different forms and evolve quickly, and we cannot always spot the warning signs.

Third, never opening attachments or clicking on strange links in emails or social media messages is another important precautionary step. Phishing emails are one of the most popular methods of spreading ransomware attacks, so we must remain wary of such messages. It's better to double-check with the sender before downloading anything or clicking on an unfamiliar link.

Furthermore, we should always backup our important files. This way, even if we fall victim to a ransomware attack, we can easily restore our data and prevent the attacker from extorting money from us.

Moreover, we should restrict the use of administrative privileges on our computers.
