How has Crossfit been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic?
Well, well, well! If there's one thing that has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, it's definitely Crossfit. Let me tell you, as an avid Crossfit enthusiast, this pandemic has been a real game-changer!
First things first, the gyms closed down. Yes, you heard me right, our beloved boxes were shut down. And I'm not just talking about for a few days or weeks, I'm talking MONTHS. We were all left to fend for ourselves in our garages, living rooms, and backyards. No more barbells, no more pulling rigs, and no more squat racks. It was just us and our own imagination.
But, this didn't stop us Crossfit fanatics. We're a resilient bunch, let me tell you. We adapted and improvise. We found ways to get our sweat on, even if it meant using our pets as weights or doing handstand push-ups on our kitchen counters.
Then came the virtual WODs. Oh boy, those were something else. We traded in our chalk for Zoom meetings and started working out together from the comfort of our own homes. It was like a Crossfit Zoom party every day. We couldn't high-five or chest bump, but we could still scream at each other through the screen and motivate one another to finish that last burpee.
But, let's be real, nothing beats the rush of being in an actual gym surrounded by our fellow Crossfitters. So, when the gyms finally opened back up, we were ecstatic! Except, there were a few changes. Masks were now mandatory, our equipment was all spaced out, and we had to make sure to clean everything thoroughly after each use. It was like a whole new world, but we were just happy to be back in our natural habitat.
Overall, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a massive impact on Crossfit. We've had to adapt and overcome challenges we never thought we'd face, but we did it. We proved that no matter what is thrown at us, we will always find a way to get our sweat on. So, if you're thinking about trying Crossfit, now is the time. We're a pandemic-proof community that will always have your back.
