Why do so many refugees flee their homes in search of a better life?

Sometimes people have to leave their homes and go to a new country because living there is not safe. This is what refugees do. Refugees are people who are forced to leave their homes because of war, conflicts, or natural disasters. They travel to other countries to find a safe place to live, where they won't be in danger anymore.

Imagine if your home was not safe anymore. There were bombs exploding all around, and you had to go out and hide to avoid getting hurt. You couldn't go to school anymore, and you were afraid all the time. You would want to go somewhere safe, right?

That's what refugees do. They go to other countries which are not affected by the same problems so they can start again. They leave everything behind because they want to be safe and have a better life.

It's important to remember that refugees are just like us. They want to be safe, happy and have friends. They have left their homes and families behind and are starting again in a new country. Some people might be mean to refugees, but we need to remember to be kind and understanding.

So when we meet refugees, we should try to help them feel welcome. We should be kind and helpful, even if we don't speak the same language. We can learn from each other and make new friends.
