7. Is the use of literary terms limited to academic writing or do they have a place in everyday communication?

Literary terms are special words that writers use to make their writing more interesting and meaningful. They can be things like metaphors, similes, allusions, and personification. But do we only use these fancy words in academic writing, or can we use them in everyday talking too?

The answer is: yes, we can! Using literary terms in our everyday communication can make our conversations more colorful and memorable. For example, if your friend is feeling sad, you could say "Don't worry, the sun will come out tomorrow" - this is called an "allusion" because you're referencing a famous song from the musical "Annie." It makes your friend feel better and maybe even smile.

Or, if you want to describe your favorite sandwich, you could say "It's like a party in my mouth" - this is called a "simile" because you're comparing your sandwich to a party. Your friend will understand exactly how delicious your sandwich is!

So, even though literary terms might seem like they're only for fancy essays and books, we can actually use them in our everyday conversations too. They add depth and interest to our language, making our words more memorable and impactful. So go out there and start using some literary terms in your everyday life - who knows, you might just impress your friends and family!
