What current trends exist in student engagement in higher education?

Well, there are definitely some interesting trends that I've noticed in student engagement in higher education. One of the big ones that comes to mind is the growing emphasis on online and digital learning. With COVID-19 forcing many universities to shift to remote learning, more and more students are getting their education online. This has led to a lot of innovative new tools and approaches to online learning, including video lectures, online collaborative projects, and virtual offices hours.

Another trend I'm seeing is a focus on experiential learning. This involves giving students hands-on opportunities to apply what they're learning in real-world contexts. One example is service learning, where students work with community organizations to address social challenges. Another is internships and co-ops, which allow students to gain practical experience in their chosen field before they graduate.

Another trend I've noticed is a greater emphasis on student-centered learning. This means giving students more control over their own learning experiences, allowing them to choose topics they're interested in, work on projects they're passionate about, and take on more responsibility for their own education.
