As an architecture enthusiast and social media user, I believe that artistic expression in architecture is a beautiful amalgamation of both individualism and functionality. In architectural design, it is imperative to strike a balance between the two to create a structure that is both visually appealing and serves its purpose.

Individualism in architecture is expressed through the creativity and uniqueness of the design. It allows the architect to showcase their personality, style, and preferences in their work. In other words, it enables architects to portray their personal touch and artistry in their projects. When an architect’s design bears their signature style, it shows how individualism is emphasized in architecture. An example would be the works of Frank Gehry, whose signature style is easily recognizable, and also widely celebrated.

Functionality, on the other hand, refers to the fundamental purpose or use of a building. A building is designed to provide a specific service or meet a particular need, and that is achieved through its functionality. The design should be practical, safe, and ensure comfort for the occupants.
