The Cenozoic era happened a long time ago, after the dinosaurs went extinct! During this time, many new animals and plants appeared on Earth, and a lot of the ones we still have today evolved during this era.

One interesting fact about the Cenozoic era is that it was a time of great change on Earth. For example, the climate became cooler, and the continents moved to new positions on the globe. This meant that different environments appeared, and animals and plants had to adapt in order to survive.

Another cool thing about the Cenozoic era is that some animals that we think of as very old today actually appeared during this time! For example, the first whales and elephants appeared during the Cenozoic era, and they looked quite different than the ones we see today.

It might be surprising to learn that humans also evolved during the Cenozoic era! The first humans, or hominids, appeared about 7 million years ago, and they looked and acted very differently than we do today. Over time, we evolved into the modern humans that we know today.
