Similarly, academic scholarship can be produced from within the context of the dominant culture, silencing voices that are not assimilated. In these cases, the reform of curriculum and research is necessary for these social justice institutions.

In conclusion, the role of education and academia in liberation movements cannot be ignored. It provides a framework for acquiring the necessary knowledge, skills, and ideas needed to support and initiate action for oppressed individuals, communities, and societies.
