On the other hand, all those visitors can be a strain on the delicate ecosystem of the fjords. There's been concern about the impact of cruise ships, for example, which can cause pollution and disturb underwater habitats. There's also the problem of overcrowding in some areas, which can damage fragile plant and animal species.

Others have implemented rules about how close boats can get to certain parts of the fjords to limit the impact on underwater ecosystems.
