What inspired you to pursue a career in comedy?
Well, to be honest, I wasn't always planning on pursuing a career in comedy. Growing up, I loved watching comedians on TV and listening to funny radio shows, but it never occurred to me that I could actually make a living being funny.
It wasn't until I started performing in local open mics and improv shows that I realized how much I loved making people laugh. The feeling of getting on stage and entertaining a crowd was like nothing else. There's something about telling a joke that lands just right and getting a big laugh that makes all the work leading up to that moment worth it.
But beyond just enjoying the rush of performing, there's a deeper reason why I want to pursue comedy as a career. I believe that laughter is one of the most powerful tools we have for connecting with each other and bridging divides. When we can laugh together, even in the face of difficult or uncomfortable situations, it helps us to see each other as human beings and not just as caricatures or stereotypes.
Comedy allows me to use my own experiences and perspective to bring people together and create an atmosphere of connection and understanding. Whether I'm telling silly jokes or tackling more serious topics, I hope to always bring a sense of joy and levity to my performances.
Of course, pursuing a career in comedy is not always easy. There are plenty of times where I've bombed on stage or struggled to make ends meet while pursuing my passion. But ultimately, the joy of making people laugh and the hope of bringing people together is what keeps me going.
So that, in a nutshell, is what inspired me to pursue a career in comedy. It's not the most traditional path, but I'm excited and grateful for the opportunity to share my voice and make people laugh in the process.
