What is Plato's legacy in the current state of philosophy?
for someone with a low level of English.
Plato is a very important person in philosophy. He lived a very long time ago in Greece, even before Jesus was born. Plato loved to ask lots of questions about life and how people should live. He wrote a lot of books talking about his ideas.
One of the most important things Plato did was to start a school called the Academy. This school was a place where people could come and learn from Plato and other wise teachers. Lots of famous philosophers came from the Academy and they wrote many books that people still read today.
One of Plato's big ideas was about something called the "Forms". Plato thought that there were perfect forms of everything and that we can only see imperfect copies of them in the world around us. For example, he thought that there was a perfect idea of a tree that exists somewhere and that the trees we see in our world are just copies of that perfect idea.
Plato also talked a lot about justice and what it means to be a good person. He wrote a book called "The Republic" which talks about how to create a perfect society where everyone is happy and treated equally.
Today, Plato's legacy lives on in philosophy. People still read his books and talk about his ideas. Many philosophers still follow Plato's way of thinking and try to understand more about the world around us.
So, to answer the question, Plato's legacy in the current state of philosophy is that he is remembered as one of the most important philosophers of all time. His ideas still influence how we think about the world and how we try to understand it.
