As a user of social media, I would say that Bollywood is definitely facing some challenges and controversies in the current political climate. Over the last year, the industry has come under fire for several reasons, ranging from allegations of drug use and nepotism to questions around the content of certain films.

One of the major controversies that has emerged in recent months is the issue of nepotism. It came to the forefront after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who allegedly took his own life. Fans and some media outlets blamed some prominent filmmakers for perpetuating a system of nepotism, which they claimed prevented talented outsiders, like Rajput, from breaking into the industry. Many celebrities have been targeted for their perceived privileged backgrounds, with some going as far as boycotting their films and others calling for an overhaul of the Indian film industry.

Moreover, Bollywood has also faced criticisms of promoting drug culture in their movies, with many arguing that the glorification of drug use in films may exacerbate the use of drugs among young people in India. The issue came to the fore after the Narcotics Control Bureau initiated an inquiry into allegations of drug use in Bollywood following the untimely death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Many Bollywood actors have faced allegations of drug use, including some prominent names, which have shaken the industry to its core.
