Oh my gosh, talking about the Taj Mahal, brings back so many memories of my history class. The Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful and iconic structures in the world, and I am sure that we all are wondering about how long did it take to build the Taj Mahal and how many workers were involved in its construction.

Well, let me tell you, the Taj Mahal is not just a building; it’s a symbol of love, an epitome of beauty, and a masterpiece of architecture. It took over twenty-two years and around twenty thousand workers to build the Taj Mahal. Yes, you heard me correctly! Twenty thousand workers toiled day and night to create the masterpiece we now know as the Taj Mahal.

To put things into perspective, if we were to ask twenty thousand people to come together and build a structure today, I highly doubt that we would get anything close to the Taj Mahal’s beauty and grandeur. It’s truly mind-boggling when you think about it- thousands of workers, twenty-two years of work, and so much love was poured into creating this architectural masterpiece.

The construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1632 under the orders of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It is said that the emperor was so heartbroken after the death of his wife that he decided to build this monument in her memory, dedicating it to her love and loyalty.

The Taj Mahal is a true testament to the love that once existed between Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, and it’s awe-inspiring to think that even in the 1600s, people were capable of such grand gestures of love.
