Is the Euro game market saturated with too many similar games?
As a user of several social networks, I must say that the Euro game market is definitely saturated with too many similar games. It seems like every other day there is a new game released that is just a rehash of something that has already been done before.
Don't get me wrong, I love playing games and I think it's great that there is so much variety out there. But there comes a point where it feels like you're just playing the same game over and over again, with only minor differences between them.
I think part of the problem is that game developers are afraid to take risks. They see what has already been successful and try to replicate it, rather than trying something new and different. This is understandable from a business standpoint – after all, they want to make money – but it's frustrating for gamers who are looking for something fresh and exciting.
Another issue is that many games are just too similar in terms of mechanics and gameplay. It's one thing to have a similar theme or setting, but when the gameplay is identical to something that was released a few months ago, it's hard to get excited about it.
Of course, there are still plenty of great games out there that break the mold and offer something unique. But they seem to be getting harder and harder to find as the market becomes increasingly crowded.
Overall, I think the Euro game market could benefit from some more innovation and risk-taking. I understand that it's not easy to come up with something truly original, but I think that game developers owe it to their audience to try. After all, without gamers, there wouldn't be a market to begin with.
So, to answer the original question – yes, I do believe that the Euro game market is saturated with too many similar games. But I also believe that there is potential for improvement if developers are willing to take some risks and think outside the box.
