As a person of color using various social media platforms, I've seen firsthand how this unrest has affected people like me. For those who may not be aware, people of color have been disproportionately affected by police brutality, mass incarceration, and other forms of systemic racism for decades. The recent events with the murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and many others are not isolated incidents, but rather a culmination of years of systemic oppression.

The impact of these recent events is actually twofold. First, it has brought long-existing issues to the forefront of national attention. For once, the world is taking notice of the harsh reality faced by people of color in America. Of course, this is not a glamorous or comfortable thing to witness, but it's necessary if we want to move forward and make progress.

The second impact has been the emotional toll it has taken on communities of color. Imagine watching people who look like you being brutally murdered on social media every day. Imagine going through life knowing that your skin color puts you at a higher risk of being racially profiled, harassed, arrested, and killed by police. It's a heavy burden to carry and it's not surprising that people are angry, frustrated, and exhausted.

That being said, what gives me hope is the incredible response of communities of color and allies all across the country. We've taken to the streets, organized protests, demand justice, and started important conversations about racism in our society. Individuals, brands, and organizations are finally acknowledging the fact that racism exists and it's time to put in the hard work to dismantle it.

In conclusion, the recent racial unrest has been challenging, but it has also been a catalyst for change. I truly believe that this is a turning point in our history, where our society will no longer tolerate systemic racism and bigotry. It's going to take a lot of work, but together we can create a brighter future for all. Let's keep the conversation going and continue to fight for justice and equality.
