Take the recent Black Lives Matter movement, for example. Without social media, would this movement have spread as quickly and effectively as it did? I highly doubt it. And because of this, the movement has made some incredible strides in the fight for racial equality.

But social media isn't just a tool for spreading awareness. It's also a tool for organizing and mobilizing people. Platforms like Facebook and Eventbrite have made it easy to create and promote events, rallies and protests. Say goodbye to the chaotic, last-minute planning that characterized activism in the past. Thanks to technology, anyone can create and share an event in a matter of minutes, rallying support and attendance from all over the world.
