I think the most underrated natural landmark in Oceania is definitely the Waitomo Glowworm Caves in New Zealand. These caves are located on the North Island of New Zealand and are full of a unique species of glowworms that illuminate the cave walls and ceilings, creating a magical and mystical atmosphere.

The experience of cruising through the caves on a boat in complete darkness, with only the tiny glowworms lighting the way, is nothing short of enchanting. Every twist and turn reveals something new and beautiful, from the stalactites and stalagmites to the underground waterfalls.

In my opinion, the Waitomo Glowworm Caves are vastly underrated because they are often overshadowed by other natural landmarks in New Zealand, such as Milford Sound and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. While these landmarks are certainly stunning, the Waitomo Glowworm Caves offer a completely unique experience that can't be found anywhere else in the world.

Additionally, the caves have a rich history and cultural significance for the Maori people of New Zealand. They were first discovered by Maori Chief Tane Tinorau and English surveyor Fred Mace in 1887, and have been a popular tourist attraction ever since.
