Is the creation of expressways affecting the natural landscapes and habitats of animals?

Well, I think the creation of expressways is definitely affecting the natural landscapes and habitats of animals. I mean, it makes sense, right? When humans build roads and highways, they're pretty much taking over land that used to belong to other animals. And that's not even mentioning all the pollution and noise that comes with increased traffic.

But then again, I'm not really an expert on this stuff. I mean, I never studied environmental science or anything like that. And I'm sure there are some arguments out there that say expressways have actually helped certain animal populations. Like maybe they've made it easier for some species to migrate or something.

I also wonder how much impact expressways really have compared to other human activities. Like, yeah, building a new highway probably messes with the environment. But what about things like deforestation or mining? Those seem like they'd have a much bigger impact on wildlife habitats.

So I guess my answer is...I don't really know. It's a complicated topic and there are probably a lot of different factors to consider. But my gut feeling is that, in general, creating more and more expressways is probably not great for the environment.
