Are there any benefits to continental drift for humanity?

Well, that's an interesting question. Personally, I believe that there are both benefits and drawbacks to continental drift for humanity.

On the positive side, continental drift has led to the formation of new land masses and habitats. As continents move, they collide and create new mountains, lakes, and oceans. These new habitats have allowed for the evolution of new species and the diversification of existing ones. For example, the collision of Africa and Asia led to the formation of the Himalayas, which created new habitats for a variety of species, including humans. Additionally, the separation of South America and Africa allowed for the diversification of primates on both continents, ultimately leading to the evolution of humans.

Another benefit of continental drift is the distribution of natural resources. As continents move, they bring different types of rocks and minerals to the surface, which can be mined and used for a variety of purposes. For example, the collision of India and Asia led to the formation of the Himalayas, which contain vast amounts of iron and coal. Similarly, the separation of Africa and South America resulted in the formation of large oil reserves in the Atlantic Ocean.

However, there are also some drawbacks to continental drift. One of the most notable is the potential for earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. As continents collide and pull apart, they create large amounts of pressure in the Earth's crust, which can lead to seismic activity.
