When it comes to successful examples of carbon trading programs in cities around the world, there are several notable examples that have achieved great results and demonstrated the potential of this approach to reducing carbon emissions and combating climate change.

One such example is the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), which has been in operation since 2005 and covers more than 11,000 power stations and industrial plants across 31 countries in Europe.
