Which winning movie deserves a sequel and why?
Hey there! It's time for some movie talk, and I have one question for you today: Which winning movie deserves a sequel and why?
Now, there are tons of movies out there that are just begging for a follow-up. From epic action flicks to heartwarming rom-coms, there are plenty of stories that need closure (and also because we can never get enough of those characters). But, for me, there is one movie that stands out above the rest: Zootopia.
Yes, you read that right. Zootopia, the animated movie about a bunny cop and her sly fox partner taking down a conspiracy involving predators. Hear me out before you dismiss it. First off, Zootopia was a massive success when it came out in 2016. It grossed over $1 billion at the box office and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film. So clearly, audiences loved it. And secondly, the world of Zootopia is just too rich and fascinating to leave behind after just one movie.
Think about it - Zootopia is set in a world where basically all mammals (predators and prey alike) live together in harmony and are encouraged to follow their dreams, regardless of their species. It's a complex and diverse society that the movie only scratches the surface of. We see the bustling city of Zootopia, yes, but there are also other ecosystems like the arctic tundra and the savannah that we barely get to explore. Plus, the movie hints at a larger world beyond Zootopia - one where predators still face discrimination and there may even be other predator-dominated cities out there.
So, a sequel could delve even deeper into this world-building. We could see more of Zootopia's cultural practices, like the carnivore-only restaurants or the herbivore makeup stores. We could meet more of the city's quirky residents, like the sloths at the DMV or the otter real estate agents. And we could learn more about the history of how a society like Zootopia came to be.
Plus, the characters themselves are just too lovable to leave behind. Who doesn't want to see more of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde's dynamic friendship? Who wouldn't want to see Flash the sloth finally catch that fly? And there are plenty of characters who were just introduced in Zootopia (like Gazelle, voiced by Shakira) who were barely even utilized in the first movie.
And finally, the themes of Zootopia are still relevant today. The movie tackled issues of racial profiling, stereotyping, and discrimination - all important topics that could be explored further in a sequel. There could be new villains who prey on those who are different from them, or new heroes who champion diversity and unity.
So there you have it - my case for why Zootopia deserves a sequel. It's a world full of interesting characters, fascinating lore, and important themes. Plus, who doesn't want to see more of those adorable animated animals? Come on, Disney, give the people what they want!
