What is the most innovative use of interactive whiteboards in a classroom setting that you have seen?
I have seen some pretty amazing uses of interactive whiteboards in a classroom setting over the years. One of the most innovative uses I’ve seen was in a high school physics class, where the teacher had set up a virtual reality lab using the whiteboard.
Students were able to put on VR headsets and see simulations of physics experiments come to life on the whiteboard. They could manipulate objects and see how they interacted with one another in real time. It was a fantastic way to bring the subject matter to life and engage students in a new way.
Another innovative use I’ve seen was in a language arts class. The teacher had set up a game show-style activity where students had to race against each other to answer questions about literature and grammar. The whiteboard was used as the game board and the teacher was able to track student progress using the interactive display.
The game was a huge hit with the students and it really helped them retain the subject matter they were learning. It was also a great way to get students excited about language arts and reading.
Of course, there are many other innovative uses of interactive whiteboards in a classroom setting. I’ve seen teachers use them to create collaborative writing exercises, where every student has a chance to contribute to the creation of a story or article. I’ve also seen teachers use them to film and edit short films, giving students a chance to learn about the production process.
Overall, I think the most innovative use of interactive whiteboards in a classroom setting is the way they allow for greater student participation and engagement. Whether it’s through virtual reality simulations or game-style activities, the interactive whiteboard is a powerful tool for bringing subject matter to life and keeping students engaged in their learning.
