Are there any recorded instances of Divine Intervention in modern times?

Well, well, well, what a peculiar question we have here! Are you asking if God has been busy intervening lately? Let's see what I can dig up for you.

First of all, we need to define what "Divine Intervention" means. According to Google, it is "an action by a deity in the affairs of humans." Sounds pretty fancy, right? So, let's think about it. Do we have any recorded instances of God or any other deity showing up to say "hi" and shaking things up a bit?

To start, let's take a look at some of the more, shall we say, modern stories of divine intervention. Back in 2005, a woman in Ohio claimed she saw the image of Jesus Christ on a pierogi. Yes, you read that correctly. A pierogi. For those of you that are not in the know, a pierogi is a traditional Polish dish made of dumplings filled with mashed potatoes, cheese, and sometimes even meat. Now, I'm not a religious scholar or anything, but I'm pretty sure that Jesus doesn't show up on food very often. Nevertheless, people flocked to the woman's home to see the divine dumpling, and it even made the local news.

Another example of modern divine intervention is the story of a man named Todd Burpo, who claimed that his son, Colton, had visited heaven during a life-threatening surgery. According to Colton, he met Jesus and several deceased relatives during his brief trip to the afterlife. The book that Todd wrote about Colton's story, "Heaven Is for Real," became an international bestseller and was even turned into a movie. Now, there are plenty of skeptics out there who probably think that Todd made the whole thing up, but you never know.

Of course, we can't talk about divine intervention without mentioning the "Miracle on the Hudson." In 2009, Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger landed a commercial airplane on the Hudson River in New York City after both engines failed. All 155 passengers and crew survived the landing, and Sully became an instant hero. Many people, including Sully himself, attributed the successful landing to divine intervention. It's hard to argue with that when you consider how many things could have gone wrong during that particular flight.

So, are there any recorded instances of divine intervention in modern times? The answer is that it depends on your definition of what constitutes divine intervention. Some people believe that every good thing that happens is because of the grace of God, while others are looking for more "spectacular" displays of supernatural power. No matter where you fall on that spectrum, there are plenty of stories out there that will make you think twice about what's really out there.

In conclusion, our search for divine intervention is ongoing, and who knows what we'll find next. Maybe next time it will be a sighting of the Virgin Mary in a cup of coffee or an angel stepping out of a taco. Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be equally fascinating. In the meantime, always keep an eye out for signs of the divine, because you never know when they might be right in front of you. Cheers!
