Starting off with the obvious one: law enforcement. I mean, have you even watched the news in the past year? It seems like every other day there's a new story about a police officer using excessive force against a person of color. And let's not forget about the racial profiling that happens all too often. It's no secret that the criminal justice system has a serious race problem.

Moving on, let's talk about Hollywood. Despite all the progress that has been made in recent years, the entertainment industry is still pretty darn white. It's not uncommon for actors and actresses of color to be overlooked for roles, or for their characters to be written as stereotypes. And don't even get me started on the lack of diversity behind the camera.

Another industry that has been known to have issues with racism is healthcare. Studies have shown that people of color are often undertreated or mistreated compared to their white counterparts. And, let's not forget that whole Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment debacle. Yeah, not a great look for the medical community.

Moving on to sports. Now, you might be thinking, "but sports are supposed to be a great equalizer!" and to some extent, that's true. However, racism still rears its ugly head on the court and field. From fans hurling racial slurs to players being discriminated against by their coaches, there's no denying that there's work to be done in the world of sports.

Last but not least, let's talk about education. As someone who used to work in a predominantly white school district, I can tell you firsthand that racism is alive and well in our schools. Students of color are often disciplined more harshly than their white peers, and teachers may hold conscious or unconscious biases that affect their interactions with students.

Now, before you start to lose faith in humanity, let me just say that there are plenty of industries that are actively working to combat racism. From tech companies implementing diversity and inclusion programs to restaurants highlighting the cultural diversity of their cuisine, there are good things happening out there.

So, to sum up: yes, certain industries are more prone to racism than others, but that doesn't mean we should give up on them. Let's continue to call out racism when we see it, and work to create a more equitable society for all.
