What sparked the deterioration of American relations with Cuba during the Cold War?

During the Cold War, the United States and Cuba had a very bad relationship. Many things caused this, but it all started with a revolution in Cuba led by Fidel Castro. Castro and his followers overthrew the government, which was friendly to the United States.

The United States did not like this new government because it was communist. The communist government had a lot of control over its people and businesses. This made Americans worried because they believed in democracy and free markets.

To make matters worse, the Cuban government made an agreement with the Soviet Union, which was also communist. The Soviet Union sent missiles to Cuba, which made Americans very afraid. They thought a nuclear war would start, and this was called the Cuban Missile Crisis.

The United States tried many things to stop the communist government in Cuba. They put an embargo on Cuba, which meant they couldn’t trade with the United States. They also tried to invade Cuba, but the attack failed.

The situation was very tense between the United States and Cuba for many years. It wasn't until 2015 when the two countries decided to re-establish diplomatic relations. This means that they have started talking to each other and trying to improve their relationship.

In summary, the deterioration of American relations with Cuba during the Cold War was caused by a communist government taking over, the Soviet Union sending missiles to Cuba, and the United States trying to stop communism. It was a difficult and scary time, but eventually, the two countries decided to work together to improve their relationship.
