So why did the Salem Witch Trials happen? There is no one answer, but historians believe that it was due to a combination of religious beliefs, fear, and superstition. At the time, people were very religious and believed that witches were working with the devil to harm others. They also believed that they could identify witches by performing tests on their bodies.
