Is water polo a dangerous sport?

Well, I don't know if water polo is considered a dangerous sport or not. I mean, any sport can be dangerous if you don't take the proper precautions and use the right protective gear, right?

Personally, I've played water polo before and I wouldn't say it's particularly more dangerous than other contact sports like basketball or soccer. Sure, you're in the water and you have to constantly tread water, but if you're a strong swimmer it's not that big of a deal.

That being said, there are definitely certain risks involved with playing water polo. For one thing, you're constantly being hit and pushed by other players, which can result in bruises or even more serious injuries if you're not careful.

There's also the risk of drowning, although that's pretty rare if you're playing in a properly supervised pool or other aquatic facility.

All in all, I think whether or not water polo is a dangerous sport depends on a lot of factors, like how well-trained the players are and what kind of facilities they're playing in. But as long as you take the necessary precautions and play smart, I don't think it's any more dangerous than other popular sports out there.
