What is the relationship between biodiversity and food security?

Biodiversity means the variety of plants, animals, and organisms that live in an area. It's really important because it helps our planet in many ways, such as providing clean air and water, keeping soil healthy, and even creating medicine for people.

Food security means that people have enough food to eat. When we have a lot of different plants and animals in an area, it can help us with food security. This is because if one crop or animal gets sick or has a problem, we have other options to eat.

For example, let's say we only grow one type of plant to eat. If a disease spreads to that plant, or the weather is bad and it can't grow well, we won't have anything to eat. But if we have many different plants, and maybe even some animals like chickens or cows, we will have more options if one type of food is not available.

So, biodiversity helps with food security by giving us more options for what we can eat. We need to take care of our planet and try to keep as many plants and animals as we can, so we will always have enough food to eat.
