What was everyday life like for the Inca civilization?

The Inca civilization was form a long time ago in South America, more specifically in present-day Peru, Bolivia, and Chile. They were one of the largest empires in the world at that time! Their everyday life was very different from ours today. They lived in a time where buildings made of stone, llamas, and alpacas roamed the streets and countryside.

The Incas were skilled farmers! They knew how to work with the land given to them, and they used terrace farming to grow their crops. They harvested potatoes, corn, and many other kinds of vegetables. It was a tough job, but with hard work, they always had enough food to eat.

The Inca people were very religious, and they worshipped many gods. Their most important god was the sun god, and they believed that he was responsible for providing them with light and warmth. They also believed that the mountains were sacred and would offer their prayers and sacrifices to them.

Their clothes were colorful and unique! People made their clothes out of llama wool, and they used natural dyes to make them beautiful and bright. The clothes were unique to their region and culture.

The Inca civilization had a well-organized society, and everyone had a role to play. They had a leader called the Inca, and he was considered to be the son of the sun god. They had a complex road system that connected their empire, and they were able to move quickly around lands.

Inca’s communication system was very efficient, all messages were delivered in a knotted cord called a quipu. It was a very clever device that allowed them to keep track of the things that happened in their empire.

In summary, everyday life for the Inca civilization was a mix of hard work, religious beliefs, and family values. Despite the fact that their way of living was very different from ours today, they had a thriving society with a unique culture and way of life.
