When it comes to the market share of voice assistants, the answer is not straightforward. This is followed closely by Google Assistant with 60.1 million users and Apple’s Siri with 41.4 million users. These numbers are based on active monthly users.

Another way to look at the market share is by studying the dominance of voice assistants across different devices. Amazon’s Alexa was the first voice assistant to be integrated into smart home devices, which gave them a head start in that regard. They continue to lead in that category with an estimated 70% market share for voice assistant integration in smart speakers, displays, and streaming sticks. Google Assistant comes in second with an estimated 22% of the market while Apple’s Siri has a negligible market share in this category.

However, when it comes to mobile devices, Apple’s Siri takes the lead with an estimated 45% of voice assistant usage, followed closely by Google Assistant with 28%, and Amazon’s Alexa with only 17%. This is not surprising since Siri was integrated into the iPhone from its inception, giving them an advantage. Google Assistant is now also pre-installed on many Android phones, helping them to close the gap in recent years.

It depends on how the market share is measured and across which device category.
