Has language evolution resulted in the deterioration of languages?

Language evolution has not resulted in the deterioration of languages. Instead, languages change and evolve over time, just like plants and animals do. People use language to communicate with each other, and as technology and culture change, the way we use language changes too.

Think of it like a puzzle. When a new piece is added, the puzzle looks different, but it's still a puzzle. Similarly, when new words, expressions, and ways of speaking are added to a language, it may look different, but it's still a language.

Sometimes people worry that language evolution means that proper grammar and spelling are becoming a thing of the past. While it's true that people are using shorthand and emojis more in digital communications, this doesn't mean that grammar and spelling are irrelevant. Instead, it means that language is adapting to new technology and ways of communicating.

In fact, many linguists believe that language evolution is a sign of a healthy language. When a language stops changing and evolving, it becomes stagnant and may eventually disappear. So, language evolution is actually a positive thing that helps to keep things fresh and interesting.

To sum it up, language evolution is not a bad thing. It is a natural process that helps languages grow and change over time. As long as people are still communicating and connecting through language, it will continue to evolve in new and exciting ways.
