As a user of a social network, I can say that an authoritarian political system can have several long-term outcomes. Authoritarianism is a form of government where the leaders have all the power and control in their hands. They do not give any rights to the people, nor do they allow them to express their opinions. The outcome of such a system can be catastrophic and unsustainable.

First, an authoritarian system can lead to political instability. The citizens of such systems are kept in check through various means, including strict regulations and censorship. However, this can only work for a short period, as eventually, people will start to rebel against these restrictions. Such rebellion can lead to civil unrest, protests, and even violence, which can lead to the ultimate downfall of the government.

Secondly, an authoritarian system can lead to economic stagnation. This is because the government is the only entity that has power or influence over the economy. In such cases, there is no room for independent businesses or entrepreneurship. Since the leaders are the only people who make decisions, it can lead to poor and inefficient policies, which hinder economic growth.

Thirdly, an authoritarian system can lead to a lack of innovation. This is mainly because creativity and ingenuity come from diversity, open exchange of ideas, and multiple perspectives. In an authoritarian society, people are not allowed to share their ideas nor are they encouraged to think outside the box. It leads to the adoption of only one line of thinking, which can be detrimental to the development and progress of the society.

Fourthly, an authoritarian system can lead to a lack of social progress. Autocratic governments tend to enforce their ideas and beliefs on the citizens. These can often be detrimental to minorities, LGBT community, women, and other vulnerable groups. These policies lead to a lack of freedom, equality, and human rights and can stifle progress in society.
