As a user of various social media platforms, I have noticed that idioms continue to be used in modern society, even with the rise of technology and communication. In fact, idioms have become a part of our everyday language, and they are used in both formal and informal settings.

While it is true that technology and communication have transformed the way we interact with one another, it has not diminished our use of idioms. In fact, idioms have become a way for us to express ourselves in a more creative and nuanced way, especially in the digital age where we are constantly competing for attention.

Social media, in particular, has provided a platform for us to use idioms to our advantage. With limited characters and the need to stand out in a crowded digital landscape, using idioms can help us communicate with greater impact and appeal. It's not uncommon to come across social media posts that are captioned with idioms that have viral potential.

Moreover, idioms are not just used in communication; they are also incorporated into digital technology. For instance, digital assistants like Siri and Alexa have become more intuitive in understanding idiomatic expressions in order to provide more accurate responses to user queries.

One could argue that while technology and communication have not made idioms obsolete, it may be changing the way we use them. With the rise of global communication, we are seeing more idioms being used across cultures and languages. This phenomenon has given rise to a new generation of idioms, such as "lol" (laugh out loud) and "brb" (be right back), which have become a part of our everyday language.
