Which countries have the highest adoption rates of organic farming?

According to data from the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), around 8.3% of Bhutan's farmland is dedicated to organic farming, the highest percentage in the world.

So why is Bhutan leading the charge when it comes to organic farming? There are a few reasons. First, Bhutan is committed to sustainable development and protecting its natural resources, which aligns with the principles of organic farming. Second, the country has a strong cultural tradition of using natural inputs and practices in agriculture, which made the transition to organic farming a natural fit. Finally, Bhutan does not have as much access to synthetic inputs as other countries, so organic farming is often the most viable option for farmers.

After Bhutan, the countries with the highest rates of organic farming are mostly in Africa and Latin America.
