Is it ethical to profit from someone else's traumatic experiences, as is the case with true crime documentaries?

It's not nice to make money from someone else's bad experiences or hardships. This is something that happens with true crime documentaries. Some people may think it's okay because they are just telling a story, but it's important to remember that there are real people involved in these stories who may still be hurting or affected. It's not fair to make money off of their pain. Some documentaries may even sensationalize the crime or speculate about things that aren't confirmed, which can be hurtful and disrespectful to the people affected. It's important to be respectful and considerate when telling stories about others, especially if those stories involve traumatic experiences.
