How did Franklin D. Roosevelt's upbringing influence his political ideology?

Well, I'm not exactly an expert on Franklin D. Roosevelt, but from what I've read and heard, it seems like his upbringing had a pretty big impact on his political beliefs. You see, FDR came from a pretty wealthy and privileged family, and he was raised with a strong sense of duty and responsibility. His parents were both very involved in politics, and they encouraged him to take an interest in public service from a young age.

One thing that I think really shaped FDR's views was his experience growing up with a disability. He had contracted polio as an adult, and he was paralyzed from the waist down for the rest of his life. But even before that, he had struggled with health issues, and he was very aware of the challenges that came with living with a disability in a society that didn't always offer much support.

So I think that's part of why FDR was so committed to building a stronger social safety net. He believed that the government had a responsibility to protect and support its citizens, and he worked hard to create programs like Social Security and the New Deal that would provide assistance to those in need. He also believed in the power of collective action and activism, and he was always looking for ways to bring people together to make positive change.

Of course, there were other factors that influenced FDR's political ideology as well. He had a strong interest in foreign policy, for example, and he was deeply affected by the events of World War II. But I do think that his upbringing and personal experiences played a big role in shaping his values and beliefs. And whether or not you agree with his policies, I think it's pretty impressive how much he was able to accomplish during his time in office, considering the challenges he faced both personally and politically.
