Is there any organization or governing body that oversees cliff diving competitions?

Hey, I'm not totally sure, but I think there might be some kind of organization that oversees cliff diving competitions. I mean, it would make sense, right? You can't just have people jumping off cliffs willy-nilly without someone making sure everything's safe and legit.

I did a quick Google search and came up with a few possibilities. The first one that popped up was the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, which seems pretty legit. They've been around for a while and they have events all over the world. They even have their own rules and regulations for the competitions.

But then I started wondering if there are other organizations out there too. Like, maybe there's some kind of governing body for all extreme sports or something? I feel like I've heard of that before, but I could be totally off base.

Anyway, the point is that I'm not 100% sure if there's just one organization that oversees cliff diving competitions or if there are several. But it seems like there probably are some kind of rules and guidelines in place to make sure everything's on the up-and-up.

Honestly, I'm kind of tempted to sign up for one of these competitions myself now that I've been reading about them. It sounds crazy and dangerous, but also kind of thrilling. Plus, it would be cool to say that I jumped off a cliff and lived to tell the tale.

But yeah, to answer the original question, there does seem to be some kind of organization that oversees cliff diving competitions. I just don't know exactly what it is or how it works.
