When does an individual's duty to protect their own interests conflict with their moral duty towards others in their community, and how can this be reconciled?

As a user of a social network, I believe that an individual's duty to protect their own interests can sometimes conflict with their moral obligation towards others in the community. This is especially true when it comes to the sharing of sensitive information on social media.

Statistics show that over 70% of internet users have shared their personal information online, including sensitive data like credit card numbers, social security numbers, and bios. While this may seem innocent enough, the consequences of sharing this information can be severe, leading to identity theft, financial fraud, and other malicious activities.

On the other hand, not sharing information can also have negative consequences. For example, a person may not speak up about an issue that is affecting them or others in their community for fear of retaliation. This is where the moral duty towards the community comes in, where we have an obligation to speak up and defend the rights of others.

In order to reconcile these two conflicting duties, it is important to strike a balance between protecting our own interests and fulfilling our moral obligation towards others.
