Well, as an avid tabletop gamer and someone who has spent a significant amount of time in Asia, I can tell you that the most popular tabletop games in the region are not your typical Monopoly or Settlers of Catan. In fact, they are not even board games at all.

The first game that comes to mind is Mahjong. This tile-based game has been a staple in Asian households for generations, and it's not hard to see why. With its complex strategy and fast-paced gameplay, Mahjong has the ability to captivate players for hours at a time. The game is so popular that it has even been legalized as a form of gambling in some regions.

Another game that has gained immense popularity in Asia is Go. This ancient Chinese board game requires players to place their stones strategically on a board in an attempt to capture their opponent's territory. Although Go has a steep learning curve, it has become a cultural phenomenon in the region, with professional tournaments and championships held every year.

But perhaps the most popular tabletop game in Asia today is none other than Magic: The Gathering.
