Has there been any notable progress in advancing human rights in the past decade, or are we regressing?

Well, this is a tough question. I definitely think that there have been some notable advances in advancing human rights over the past decade, but there's also been a fair amount of regression as well.

On the positive side, I feel like people are starting to become more aware of the various issues that face marginalized communities, and there's been a lot of activism and advocacy around these topics. Many voices that were previously silenced are starting to be heard, and I think that's really important.

For example, the #MeToo movement has brought sexual harassment and assault to the forefront of public discourse, and has led to increased awareness and action against these types of behavior. Similarly, Black Lives Matter has been shining a light on police brutality and systemic racism, which has sparked important conversations and policy changes.

However, there are still plenty of areas where we're seeing a regression in terms of human rights. For example, we've seen a lot of anti-immigrant sentiment in many parts of the world, which has led to policies that are harmful to immigrants and refugees. There have also been efforts to roll back LGBTQ+ rights in some places, which is incredibly concerning.

Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted many disparities in terms of human rights, such as access to healthcare and economic stability. We've seen how different communities are impacted differently by the virus, with marginalized communities often bearing the brunt of the negative effects.

Overall, I think it's really hard to make a blanket statement about whether we're advancing or regressing in terms of human rights. It's a complex issue with a lot of different factors at play. That said, I do believe that acknowledging the progress that's been made can be motivating and inspiring, while also recognizing where we still need to do better in order to make progress towards a more equitable world.
