As a user of various social media platforms and avid trekking traveler, here is my take on the eco-friendliness of lodges and accommodations available for tourists.

During my travels, I have come across several accommodations that do not have proper waste disposal systems, overuse resources such as water and electricity, and even disturb the wildlife in their surroundings. In such places, the focus is primarily on profits rather than prioritizing responsible tourism.

It’s essential to research and choose the most eco-friendly accommodations before embarking on a trip. Sites such as Tripadvisor, Google Maps, and other travel blogs can provide you with information on sustainable tourism practices. Additionally, you can also look for eco-certifications such as Green Globe, EarthCheck, and Travelife that are provided to accommodations that meet specific environmental sustainability criteria.

Besides choosing an eco-friendly lodge or accommodation, you can also practice responsible tourism by following simple practices. These can range from using refillable water bottles, minimizing water usage, and recycling waste to respecting the flora and fauna around you. By being more conscious and aware of your actions as a traveler, you can make a significant difference in the conservation of the environment.

While some accommodations have implemented sustainable tourism practices, others continue to prioritize profits over the environment.
