In my opinion, the main reason for so many TV shows getting cancelled these days is because of the intense competition among networks and streaming platforms. With so many options available to viewers, networks and streaming platforms are constantly fighting for attention. This means that a show's ratings and popularity are more important than ever before, and even if a show is critically acclaimed, it might not be able to survive if it doesn't bring in the viewers.

Another reason for cancellations could be that networks and platforms are becoming more responsive to viewers' preferences. If a show fails to connect with its intended audience, it's unlikely to continue. This means that shows that don't immediately capture viewers' attention, or that might not find a large enough audience, are at risk of getting cancelled.
