Honestly, I'm not entirely sure what the most expensive board game ever made is, but I have heard of a few that come with hefty price tags!

Firstly, there's the Luxury Edition of Monopoly, which costs a whopping $10,000! This version of the classic board game is made with 18-karat gold and features diamonds, sapphires, and rubies embedded into the board. It also comes with specially designed houses and hotels, as well as a full set of golden game pieces. Needless to say, this edition of Monopoly is more of a decorative item than a playable game, given the risk of damaging such expensive materials.

Another game that comes with a high price tag is War of the Ring Collector's Edition. This Lord of the Rings themed game comes with a stylish wooden box and a hand-painted game board, as well as miniature figures of all the main characters from the books and movies. It costs around $500, and fans of Tolkien's work are sure to appreciate its attention to detail and immersive gameplay.

One more game worth mentioning is the Charles Hollander Backgammon Set, which costs a staggering $48,000.
