However, research involving human subjects also involves ethical concerns that must be addressed and upheld. The first ethical consideration involves informed consent. It is essential that research participants are fully briefed on what the study entails, why they are being asked to participate, what the potential risks and benefits are, and also that they that they have the option to decline participation without any negative consequences.

The second ethical consideration is that the research must not cause harm to the participants. Any research design should entail a thorough evaluation of potential risks to participants, and researchers should ensure that any possible harm or discomfort is minimized. Researchers must also be sure to follow established protocols for data collection, storage, and analysis.
