As an avid social media user, I understand the importance of protecting my personal network security in the Information security age. With so much of our lives being lived online, it is crucial that we take proactive measures to safeguard our digital identity.

First and foremost, it is important to create strong and unique passwords for all our online accounts. I know it can be tempting to use the same password across different accounts, but this makes us especially vulnerable to cyber attacks. Instead, why not come up with a fun pass phrase that is easy to remember, like "My dog loves to eat pizza!"? It might sound silly, but it will make it much harder for hackers to crack your password.

Secondly, we should be mindful of the information we share on social media. While it may be tempting to overshare online, we need to remember that everything we post could potentially be used against us. For example, if we constantly post updates about our vacation plans, it could give burglars an opportunity to break into our home while we're away. So, let's think twice before posting those flashy vacation photos!

Thirdly, we need to keep all our software and apps up-to-date. I know it can be annoying to constantly receive notifications about updates, but they are crucial for keeping our devices secure. Cyber criminals are constantly developing new ways to exploit vulnerabilities in outdated software, so it's important to stay one step ahead of them.
