I believe that copyright law should have limitations or exemptions for educational purposes. The reason being is that education is a fundamental right for everyone and should not be restricted by copyright laws. If we limit access to educational material, we are also limiting the potential for individuals to gain knowledge and contribute to society.

One of the limitations or exemptions that should be implemented is the fair use doctrine. Fair use allows for the use of copyrighted material for educational purposes such as teaching, research, scholarship or for commentary. This doctrine is vital to ensure that educators and students have access to the material they need to teach and learn effectively.

However, it is essential to understand that fair use is not a free for all. The use of copyrighted material must be appropriate, and the person using the material must consider whether the use of the work will adversely affect the market value of the original work. Educators and students should still strive for obtaining permission to use copyrighted works when possible to avoid any potential legal issues.

Another solution that could be implemented is the creation of open educational resources (OER). OER provides openly licensed content that is free for people to use, customize, and share for educational purposes. OER materials include textbooks, videos, and other resources that are created with the intention of being free for everyone to use. This solution could address the issue of limited access to educational material and ensure that students and educators have access to the material they need to teach and learn effectively.
